  • Behaviors: some of the behaviors that can reveal depression in someone can be like abandoning friends, family, or any other society that was too close (this is solitude)Having no interest in commonly enjoyable activities, being too lax, using drugs, and heavy consumption of alcohol, and feeling not secured.

 

  • Physical manifestation: depression is not only perceived through the changes in behaviors but also physical changes like losing weight, falling asleep difficultly, feeling always fatigued, and headache also can be associated.


  • Feelings: unusual feelings like sadness, loss of self-esteem, no happiness, sense of worthlessness, no motivation, sorrow, anger, tearfulness, and some people are even frustrated.

 

What are the causes of depression and its bad outcomes?


Depression can be due to many reasons throughout the lifetime of a person. And the causes of depression can be psychological, biological, or social causes. Some people might suffer from depression while others do not.

 

Causes:

     Medications: Some medications like isotretinoin (that treat acne), antiviral drugs like interferon-alpha and corticosteroids can increase your risk of depression like sadness, despair, and discouragement.

 

     Stigmatization: being stigmatized can cause people to be depressed, due to the pressure from society, and most of the time stigmatized people feel as if they are less worthy and it pushes them into hopeless living.

 

v   Abuse: being sexually abused or experiencing any other kind of abuse might be the root cause of depression to somebody.

 

v  Conflicts: from those families with sustained conflicts, their members might be depressed and it is not only the family conflicts but also other conflicts like wars, disputes can leave people in depression.


v   Sense of loss: losing our beloved ones or failure to achieve the specific goal and other kinds of sense of loss might increase the risk of depression.

 

There are many other reasons for someone to end up with depression, like gender, personal problems, and aging. All this will leave health problems to the individual and a list of diseases and other bad outcomes that can result from it.


 How can you face the problem to solve it?


It is a serious case when it comes to the problem of depression because it can mess up an individual's life and you might find it difficult to perform day-to-day activities. Even though depression is not an easy spot to snap out of, you can get better with medication and therapies. So don't let yourself be troubled and discouraged it is possible to make it if you're determined to make the change.


  • Medication: Through medical procedures, and taking some drugs, depression can be treated. like drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) that treat depression by increasing the levels of serotonin (they are neurotransmitters that carry signals between the neurons) in the brain. This drug blocks the reabsorption re-uptake of serotonin into the neurons.

  • Interact with others: always being alone without reaching out to friends and family will rise depression. Interacting with others might work out and help you to prevent depression.

  • Make an effort to avoid stress and getting nervous: try managing your stressors and take time to relax for refreshing your mind
